I’m Rooks.

I think almost everything that goes wrong between people is a misunderstanding nobody caught in time. That’s a strange reason to build software. It’s the real one.

I’m a mechanical engineer, and I’ve spent my career on the last mile of hard technology: getting it to work for the person who has to use it. I delivered autonomous drones to oil fields in Texas as a solutions engineer and program manager. Then I led post-sales for an electronic faucet manufacturer selling into more than seventy countries. Both were the same job: someone hands you a piece of technology and a person who never asked for it, and you make them get along. That’s what an install is.

Outside work I play flag football. I won the Israeli league championship. It’s the only trophy I own and I mention it more than I should.
